Artist Statement

With Process Comes Portraits

Art has always been a prominent part of my life. In 2015 I was in a car accident, facing an injury of being quadriplegic. Everything changed for me, I could no longer walk or use my dominant right hand. While in rehabilitation, I learned to adapt in using my left hand to train it how to draw. Learning how to draw with a different hand was new to me and was often difficult to get the desired outcome. Through drawing portraits I found a way to cope with my disability, to never give up no matter how difficult the situation may seem. I thank God for giving me the patience and the will to continue.
